Hello, jazz lovers!
School has started back and last month was certainly a busy time. This month is just as busy and promises some new events. I will be playing Zydeco this weekend, my nonprofit is hosting focus groups in our quest for a Durham live music festival, and I am playing at the next Food Truck Rodeo at Durham Central Park. October is going to be a lot of fun. I hope you can come out and support. Here is the full schedule for September.
October 2012
October 4: Peter Lamb & The Wolves @Waverly Place at the corner of Tryon and Kildaire Farm Roads in Cary, NC. 6:30pm-8:30pm. Free to public
October 6: The Al Strong Project with Mavis “Swan” Poole (vocals), Jeremy “Bean” Clemmons (drumset), and Lance Scott (bass) @Zydeco, 208 Wolfe Street, Raleigh. 10pm-1:30am. There is a cover charge. Call 919-834-7987 or visit zydecodowntown.com for more information.
October 7: Special Guest Artist at the Second Annual Jazz Trio Competition, B.N. Duke Auditorium, NCCU Campus. 3pm. $15 general admission. Click here for more info.
October 13: Al Strong Trio @C Grace, 407 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh. 9:00 pm-1:00am. Free to public.
October 15: My nonprofit, The Art of Cool Project, is hosting a focus group to discuss a live music festival for Durham at American Tobacco Underground in the classroom. We will discuss date/format/footprint. This focus group will be from 7pm-8pm and we will extend until 8:30pm if we need more time. This is co-moderated by Greg Lowenhagen (Hopscotch) and Marc Lee (Blues Festival). RSVP to attend here.
October 22: My nonprofit, The Art of Cool Project, is hosting a focus group to discuss a live music festival for Durham at American Tobacco Underground in the classroom. We will discuss venues/ticketing. This focus group will be from 7pm-8pm and we will extend until 8:30pm if we need more time. This is co-moderated by Mike Webster (Motorco Music Hall) and Lauran Peoples (The Cotton Room). RSVP to attend here.

October 28: The Art of Cool Project Food Truck Rodeo Jam Session in Durham Central Park. The Food Truck Rodeo is from 12:30pm-4:30pm. Click here for more info.

We will discuss musical programming. This focus group will be from 7pm-8pm and we will extend until 8:30pm if we need more time. This is co-moderated by Aaron Greenwald (Duke Performances).
